1. Start  TIFNY
After you download and run the setup package, you will find an icon for TIFNY 4 when you click the Programs group and then TIFNY from your Windows Start menu. You can start TIFNY by clicking this icon.

2. Specify the (NNTP) News Server Name
Press  to enter your NNTP (news) server information. An NNTP also known as a news server is the central host or server that client software, like TIFNY, connects to in order to retrieve USENET postings. Your ISP can give you the name of your NNTP or news server. A common naming convention is news.ISPname

3. Subscribe to Newsgroups
Subscribing to a newsgroup adds it to your subscribed newsgroups list and lets you download files for the group. Downloading the list of available groups can take a few minutes. As long as the progress bar on the top toolbar updates you’re OK.

| Type binaries to see all the newsgroups containing file attachments. This includes pictures, music, video, zip files, program files and more. |

4. Preview the Headers for a Newsgroup
List all the files available in a single newsgroup.

5. Download Files
Then pick and choose the files you want to download.

6. View Images
A thumbnail is added to the thumbnail gallery for each image that gets downloaded. To see the full size image, click anywhere on the thumbnail with your left mouse button. Click again to see the thumbnails.
If you’re looking at the last downloaded image file, images are automatically displayed as they get downloaded. Press the End key on your keyboard to see the last image.

7. Play Music and Video Files
A thumbnail also gets added for music and video files. Only one thumbnail is shown for multi-segments files, the bar on the bottom of the thumbnail fills in as segments are downloaded. When all the parts are downloaded, click the thumbnail with your left mouse button to see the player.
